PS3 System Update 4.80

A short reminder to all PlayStation 3 owners, Sony Computer Entertainment has just released a new system software update 4.75 and which can be downloaded through the PlayStation Network.

At the moment, the patch notes are no where to be found. However, the official Japanese website did list the following change:

The stability of the operation of the system software has been improved.

I’ll remember to update this post in case any other information from the changelog gets released, provided there even is.

Update: PlayStation Europe’s Chris Owen has explained that the mandatory update is to only improve system stability during use of some features. Apart from that, the update won’t bring any noticeable changes. “This update is purely to improve system stability.”

You’ll require 200 MB of free space to install the new update.
