LEGO Worlds Takes on Minecraft, Available Now On Steam
Warner Bros. announced LEGO Worlds today, a title from TT Games that features procedurally generated worlds made entirely of LEGO Bricks. Basically, it’s Minecraft, but in the LEGO universe.
The sandbox game will allow players to utilize LEGO bricks to create their own buildings, towns, and ultimately their own levels. You won’t necessarily have to start from scratch, and the game will also come with pre-made structures for your convenience.
Additionally, LEGO Worlds will also feature a variety of terrain customization tools, anything to let you build your dream LEGO world. Players can use the multi-tool to “shape environments and alter any World to your liking: raise the terrain to create vast mountain ranges, or enter the Brick-by-Brick editor to build anything you can imagine. Save your creations to build with them again.”
These worlds can be populated with characters, creatures, models, and drivable vehicles.
As of now, LEGO Worlds only sports single-player. However, the developer plans to add multiplayer in the months to come, as well as sharing features by launch time.
LEGO Worlds is currently listed as a Steam Early Access title for $14.99. There are a number of physical LEGO sets that can be unlocked right now during the game’s Early Access. TT Games has promised to continually add more sets and features with future updates.
