Square Enix Teases Rise of the Tomb Raider Announcement For June 1

Square Enix has something special planned for Rise of the Tomb Raider next week.

“Mark your calendars for Monday, June 1. ‪#‎TombRaider‬,” teased the official Facebook page of the game a couple of hours back.

Crystal Dynamics’ upcoming action-adventure sequel to the 2013 Tomb Raider is already confirmed to be making an appearance at E3 2015. Square Enix seemingly wants to start things rolling a couple of weeks earlier.

There is no speculation over what the publisher plans to reveal. It’s possible that whatever announcement it makes on June 1, the E3 press briefing will be based on expanding just that.

Microsoft’s E3 press conference will take place on June 15, and will be where Rise of the Tomb Raider is expected to take part.

After a series of vague statements bouncing back and forth, it has finally been determined that Rise of the Tomb Raider will indeed launch exclusively for the Xbox One and Xbox 360 this holiday season. The exclusivity, though, will be timed and information on that duration is still under wraps.
