Octodad: Dadliest Catch will release next week for the PlayStation Vita, developer Young Horses has announced.

Posting on the PlayStation Blog, President & Co-Founder Phil Tibitoski revealed that the PlayStation Vita version will release with a couple of new features.

Firstly, Octodad: Dadliest Catch will be available as a Cross-Buy title, which means that those who have already purchased the game on the PlayStation 4 will receive the handheld version for free. However, note that the game does not offer a cross-save function and so players will have to start over.

Secondly, players will be able to play co-op locally using one device. “With Sickhead Games’ help, we managed to stuff in enough control for two players (one on each side) to wobble your favorite dad through everyday life while rubbing shoulders with a real life friend.”

There are also some new trophies included for players to unlock.

Octodad: Dadliest Catch will release on Tuesday, May 26 for the PlayStation Vita. Those who have yet to experience the game will be following an octopus father who has concealed his identity from his normal loving family. The challenge is getting control over everyday objects using his tentacles.
