Elite Dangerous Update

We have some great news for Elite Dangerous players who bought the game from the official Elite Dangerous store. According to a new announcement by the creators, you guys are getting free Steam keys in the near future.

Fans have been wanting this to happen and finally, they can now play through Steam. In a post, community manager Edward Lewis stated:

We’ll soon be offering Steam keys to anyone who bought Elite: Dangerous from the EliteDangerous.com store who would like a key, and to anyone who buys the game from our store in the future.

We always appreciate it when you buy direct from our store because it means we can put more into supporting and developing Elite: Dangerous, but we know a number of long-time players and backers like to play through Steam and we think it’s fair everyone has that option, not just new players.

This applies to those who backed the game on Kickstarter as well.

Elite Dangerous released late last year on PC but game is also coming to Xbox One and PlayStation 4. Similar to Rise of the Tomb Raider, Elite Dangerous will be released on Xbox One first due to a timed-exclusivity deal with Microsoft.
