Sony Decides to Skip Gamescom, Paris Games Week Instead?

By   /   1 year ago

In a tweet posted earlier today, Sony announced that there will be no Sony presence at this year’s Gamescom Developer’s Conference.

It appears that they are opting, instead, to attend the Paris Games Week event instead.

There does not appear to be any news on why they have decided to skip Gamescom this year but it could be a tactical move to give themselves a little more breathing room for promotion and to distance themselves from the crowded Gamescom show floor.

This is similar to Nintendo’s decision to skip E3 last year and promote their games and hardware on their own time. A decision that has paid off considerably with their Nintendo Direct videos.

It remains to be seen what will come of this decision but we will keep you posted as soon as we find out more. Sound off in the comments below with your own theories on why Sony could be taking the Nintendo route in the future.
