Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 Wii U Hope’s Still Alive

By   /   May 6, 2015

There might still be hope for a Wii U version of Call of Duty: Black Ops 3.

While Treyarch never mentioned Nintendo’s struggling platform in its original announcement, Activision has never categorically put down a Wii U release. Whenever asked about other platforms, the publisher has responded by asking everyone to “stay tuned.”

Additionally, users were also able to connect to their Nintendo Network ID through the Call of Duty website.

Today, it has come to light that Activision has reportedly sent viral marketing materials for the upcoming shooter to various mods over Reddit. This list also includes the Wii U sub-Reddit as well.

This is probably the biggest indicator yet that the Wii U platform will indeed get a share of the Call of Duty pie this year. However, it hasn’t been entirely confirmed whether the marketing materials really are for Black Ops 3 in general.

It’s possible that Activision has something else in store for Wii U and last-gen consoles. Perhaps the reason Black Ops 3 was never announced for the Wii U, is because there’s a separate Call of Duty title in the works for last-gen hardware.

Black Ops 3 is going to launch on November 6 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.

The futuristic warfare is here to stay and players who do purchase an early copy will be guaranteed access to an upcoming open beta. Those who already have pre-ordered should prepare themselves to battle against cybernetically enhanced soldiers.
