Fans Start an Online Petition Asking Konami to Revive Silent Hills
Silent Hills fans recently started an online petition asking Konami to revive the scrapped project and its collaboration with Guillermo del Toro.
Earlier this week, Konami officially announced that it cancelled the project to fans’ disappointment. However, the company also stated that it remains ‘committed’ to the franchise. Moreover, the company also pulled P.T. (Playable Teaser) from the Playstation Store on Apr. 29, 2015.
Konami is committed to new Silent Hill titles, however the embryonic ‘Silent Hills’ project developed with Guillermo del Toro and featuring the likeness of Norman Reedus will not be continued.
In terms of Kojima and del Toro being involved, discussions on future Silent Hill projects are currently underway, and please stay tuned for further announcements.
In the wake of its cancellation, a fan Yauheni Zinkevich started an online petition over Change.Org with a 75,000 signatures goal which has acquired 51,063 at the time of writing this.
Soon after the game was pulled out of the Playstation Store, we saw a number of online sellers emerging over eBay, selling their Playstation 4 consoles with installed P.T. for as much as £1,500.
Although not a concrete solution, we have seen online petitions work in some rare instances. Do you think the Silent Hills petition will become one of them; make sure to let us know in the Discussion Box below.
