“Women inevitably have to work a little bit harder to be heard. Hollywood is disgustingly sexist. It’s crazy. It’s so offensive it’s crazy.”

Helen Mirren, Patricia Arquette and Carey Mulligan have also spoken about the issue extensively. Mulligan complained about limited number of female driven movies in Hollywood. She revealed the fact that her new feature titled ‘Suffragette’ took very long to make it to the big screen.

“Massively sexist, it’s such a reflection of our film industry that the story hasn’t been told yet.”

Stewart continued on and talked about her peers who decide to go topless in their movies. She believes that being acknowledged for nudity and showing skin is the worst kind of fame.

“I … question when a fairly established actress finally does a scene in a movie when she shows her b***s, and she hasn’t done it up until [that] moment and maybe she only did it for the prestigious part and it’s OK for this time because it’s classy, and I’m like, ‘Oh God, thank you for revealing to the world your treasure’.”

She also said that she dislikes certain intimate scenes in the movies when they are inserted unnecessarily. Kristen Stewart will be next seen in Clouds of Sils Maria.
