Capcom Pro Tour Heads to EGX This Year With £2,000 Prize Pot

The Capcom Pro Tour will be returning this year to EGX in September with the EGX Fight Zone Pro Tour Ranking Event, Gamer Network has announced.

Seventy-Two of the best Ultra Street Fighter IV players will be facing off on the main EGX stage on September 27 for a £2000 prize pot which is going to be divided amongst the top three. This is the first time that EGX is putting up such a hefty prize money for players.

These participants will be selected through the EGX Qualification Series, which is going to include numerous online and offline qualifies from now until September 27. Operator Unequalled Media has already teamed up with tournament organizers in London, Essex, Leicester, Southampton, Manchester, Leeds, Scotland, Brighton and Birmingham to bring these qualifying tournaments for the players in UK.

The EGX event is going to be an incredibly important one for professional USFIV players. The top sixteen players are going to be awarded Capcom Pro Tour ranking points which is going to help them qualify for thirty-two available spots in Capcom’s year-end tournament – the largest competitive fighting game championship in the world right now.
