I’m not saying I was utterly surprised by this because obviously when we are talking about the biggest release for the console’s life so far, it surely deserves a themed console. It is, nonetheless, good that the news about a themed Xbox One for Halo 5 Guardians has been confirmed.

The head of development for the game at 343 Industries, Josh Holmes, was the guy who revealed the news.

He was asked on his official Twitter profile if the Master Chief fans could look forward to a Halo 5 Guardians themed Xbox One. He replied to the tweet by saying that “there is a limited edition console coming, yes. It hasn’t been revealed yet, but it’s pretty sweet.”

This is awesome!

However, like Holmes clarified, the console has not been revealed yet, so we will have to wait for a while in order to get the first look at it.

On the flipside, the fact that he went on to reveal the existence of a themed console suggests that the official unveiling of the product could be pretty near.

The last release in the series, Halo: The Master Chief Collection did get a special bundle but not a themed Xbox One. This was unlike most of the previous releases in the game series – almost all of them had a custom console.

In the time since Xbox One has been out in the market, Microsoft has experimented less with themed versions of the console as compared to Sony’s PlayStation 4. It will be interesting to see what they turn that solid black into for Halo 5 Guardians.
