Dota 2 Major Championships Announced by Valve
Three new official events have been added to the Dota 2 events calendar, according to an announcement by Valve. The action will begin this Fall with Dota Major Championships. Seasonal events take us to the annual International Championships every Summer.
The news was announced over at the official Dota website in a post saying:
These marquee tournament events will see top teams competing at premier venues around the world. There will be limited trade periods during the year for participating teams. As the Fall event approaches, more tournament details will be announced.
These events will be sponsored by none-other than Valve and are going to be hosted by third-party organizers. Also, said events will be held on different locations across the globe.
As the post on their website said, we will be given more details about the events later on.
Dota 2 is one of the most popular games of its kind and just recently it reached 1 million concurrent players. Its popularity is only expected to rise in the future and will have positive effects on the competitive scene as well.
