The Witcher 3, Arkham Knight to Support DirectX 12?
Okay so this is not coming from any of the official sources i.e. Microsoft, CD Projekt Red or Rocksteady Studios, but someone else is suggesting that two of the highly anticipated games of the year, The Witcher 3 and Batman: Arkham Knight are going to support DirectX 12!
The claim came in from MSI, the Taiwan based motherboard and graphics card manufacturing company. So naturally, any thing they say cannot be the official verdict on the matter.
With that being said, MSI took to their official website with a post regarding the imminent launch of Windows 10 and the arrival of DirectX 12.
While discussing the improvements that the API is expected to bring, they mentioned something about users getting a chance to see the benefits of the new technology as soon as The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt and Batman: Arkham Knight are released. Here’s an excerpt from their post:
Windows 10 is coming, what does that mean for gaming? The most exciting part of Windows 10 for gamers is the introduction of DirectX 12. You are likely to start seeing the benefits of the new graphics technology already in The Witcher 3, Batman: Arkham Knight and more games released later this year. Some CPU-bound games like MMO’s are able get a performance bump of up to 50% according to Microsoft, which just sounds epic to us!
Rest of their post was about further explanations into how DirectX 12 is supposed to double the FPS and other claimed merits of the technology.
Do you think The Witcher 3 and Batman Arkham Knight could actually support DX12 or is MSI mistaken?
