GTA Online: You Can’t Use The Word Nintendo, Microsoft or Sony For In-Game Messages
Something really weird was shared online by a reddit user recently, which somewhat made me question the sanity of Rockstar, the creator of GTA. The reddit user shared a list of banned words.
Words which you can not use while sending in-game texts in GTA Online.
Grand Theft Auto Online has a feature that allows players to send text messages to each other via an in-game mobile. This is where the ban is implemented, the full list can be seen here and you will notice some pretty strong and vulgar language.
However, in-between those words you will notice something really strange. The list features the word Sony, Nintendo and Microsoft, meaning you can not use these words in the game.
The legitimacy of this list was brought to question, so someone tested things out. He tried to send random words from the list to other players and none of them would of through.
Some other banned words include developer, Hotmail, eggplant, muslim, Xbox, PlayStation and many more. It just doesn’t make sense to me at all. Why would you ban such words but allow violence, murder, sexual interactions and other questionable behavior in your game.
It’s hypocrisy at its best!
We are trying to reach Rockstar for an explanation, and will get back to you with more updates. Until then, feel free to share your take on the story in the comments below.
