For instance, it was recently revealed that the game might also get a mobile tie-in game just like the previous titles in the series have done.

Tetsuya Nomura, the game director for Kingdom Hearts 3 at Square Enix shed some light on what the future could bring. He specifically mentioned the D23 Expo Japan where, according to him, the developers will be announcing a smartphone spin off title.

We have some interesting things planned. There will be Kingdom Hearts III news, and various things, I think. Development on Kingdom Hearts III is going smoothly, but there will also be new announcements connected to it. As one of those new announcements, I think we should be able to announce a smartphone-specific development for the series in short order.

For those who don’t know D23 Expo is going to be held by the Official Disney fan Club between November 6 to November 8, 2015 in Maihama, Tokyo Disney Resort.

A fan event for Kingdom Heart 3 is also going to be held a day prior to the event i.e. on November 3 at Cinema Ikspiari, Tokyo Disney Resort. It is probable that the mobile game announcement will be made during that event.
