HBO Now Launches on Apple TV to Bring Game of Thrones and More for the Viewers
HBO Now has been launched on Apple TV and Cablevision ahead of Veep, Silicon Valley and Game of Thrones. Now all users can have unlimited access to all catalog archives of HBO shows. The app will allow users to stream online legally without giving cable subscription.
The app is available in US only for now and soon it will launch in the UK. The market for this potential app is 70 million US households. However, it is difficult to penetrate in a market already ruled by giants of online streaming such as Netflix, Hulu and Amazon Prime.
Apple users can easily use the services on their Apple TV, iPhone and iPad making the payments through iTunes. Last month at the Apple Watch event, this service was announced and now it has been made available for purchasing and streaming.
With only three days left in Game of Thrones worldwide premiere, HBO has increased its viewership even more. Now anyone without a cable subscription can watch the series with the best user interface experience.
Apple cut the price of its Apple TV from $99 to $69 in March; also no other company can offer the service for the next three months because Apple signed an exclusive deal prohibiting the ‘new digital distributors’ to do so.
