Billy Lynn’s Long Halftime Walk: Kristen Stewart in Talks for Kathryn’s role
Kristen Stewart and Ang Lee are in negotiations, according to The Wrap, Studio 8 and Bona Film Group want to cast Stewart for the role of Kathryn in Billy Lynn’s Long Halftime Walk.
The upcoming feature is based on Ben Fountain’s best-selling novel that follows the story of a 19-year-old infantryman from Texas, Billy Lynn who survives a deadly firefight in Iraq. The efforts put in by Lynn and his companions during 2005’s firefight bring them to Dallas Cowboys’ football stadium for a lap of victory.
Joe Alwyn will play the character of Billy Lynn and Stewart, if she gets the role, will be playing Billy’s elder sister Kathryn. Steve Martin and Garrett Hedlund are also part of the thriller drama’s cast.
TriStar and Film4 along with Studio 8 and Bona Film Group are involved with the project. Simon Beaufoy alongside Ang Lee, Rhodri Thomas, Stephen Cornwell and Simon Cornwell will be producing the movie and it is expected to start filming sometime in the next month.
Stewart only knows one way and that is climbing up. She already has films with Walter Salles, Olivier Assayas, and David Fincher reaching new number at the box office. Woody Allen, Drake Doremus, and Kelly Reichardt have also signed Stewart for their upcoming movies.
