Fox has announced that they have picked New Girl for another season at the studios, marking the return of the show with its fifth season.

David Madden, President of Fox Entertainment, has confirmed about the season’s renewal in a statement. Madden says that he is proud of the entire team and New Girl is one of the most amazing show on Television.

“Four seasons in, New Girl continues to be one of the smartest and most relatable comedies on television. The writing is razor-sharp, the ensemble is consistently hilarious, and we couldn’t be more proud of… the entire New Girl team. We absolutely love this show and we’re so excited to bring it back for Season Five.”

Zooey Deschanel, who plays Jess in the show accompanied by her clique of douches, makes the audience laugh so hard they often fall off beds. And that Douchebag Jar! Totally in love with it, although I do sympathize with Schmidt.

Season 5 is already under development because the production team needed a head start as Deschanel was to go on maternity leave and her pregnancy was not assimilated in the show’s storyline.

Damon Wayans Jr. will not be coming back for season 5 however, The Selfie and Sleepy Hollow star John Cho and Taran Killam from SNL will guest star reports TVLine.

Liz Meriwether is the creator of New Girl. Chernin Entertainment along with 20th TV have produced it. Dave Finkel, Jake Kasdan, Katherine Pope, Brett Baer, Peter Chernin and Meriwether are the executive producers.
