Mortal Kombat X ESL Pro League Tournament Announced

ESL and Netherrealm Studios have announced a Mortal Kombat X Pro League tournament. On April 19,  pre-season Cup 1 (all regions) qualifiers will start, that’s just five days after the game comes out for PS4, PS3, Xbox One, Xbox 360 and PC.

The tournament dubbed as “Who’s Next?” is a “Worldwide Competitive Program” that will bring together some of the best Mortal Kombat players.

The Worldwide Competitive Program features two major events. First is the Fatal 8 Exhibition, while the other is Mortal Kombat X ESL Pro League Tournament.

According a press-release, Mortal Kombat X “Who’s Next” tournament will give players a chance to  “secure winnings from a prize pool that starts at $100,000” during the tournament series.

In the Fatal 8 Exhibition, 8 of the top pro players will go up against each other. Here’s the list of announced players:

  • Perfect Legend
  • HitBox|Tyrant
  • Ryan Hart
  • cR|SonicFox
  • KIT|ForeverKing
  • Tony-T
  • PND|Ketchup
  • MIT

The exhibition will be held on April 11 and if you wish to spectate, you can visit ESL studios in Burbank, California. Tickets are available here.

Xbox One players in Europe and North America will be able to compete in weekly tournaments for  cash prizes and a chance to secure a spot in the grand finals on July 11 in Los Angeles, California.

There are only 16 spots for the grand finals. So if you wish to participate, bring your best game forward.
