Guild Wars 2 Heart of Thorns: Crafting, Map Bonuses Discussed by ArenaNet
The daunting task of crafting your legendary weapon takes a lot of energy and work in Guild Wars 2. However, ArenNet wants to make things interesting and accessible for you which is why they dedicated a detailed post on their official website to precursor crafting and the new map bonuses system.
If you go here, you will be able to read up on how both of these features are going to work in the Heart of Thorns expansion which you guys will be eager to get your hands on.
In Heart of Thorns, you’ll have access to a special Mastery track for unlocking precursor crafting. Mastery tracks are a new progression system being introduced in the expansion that will allow you to put experience earned toward training specific abilities once you hit level 80.
There on they explained how the lengthy process of crafting begins and works until you are done with the precursor where after you will craft the legendary weapon.
“It’s a long process of gathering the required materials to craft gifts that will eventually be given to Zommoros—the djinn at the heart of the Mystic Forge—who in return gifts you with your powerful legendary weapon,” they said.
When Guild Wars 2 gets Heart of Thorns, the collection of materials required for the crafting will also become a more “directed activity” thanks to Map Bonuses system.
There will be events, jumping puzzles, and mini-dungeons for the explorable maps that will get you rewards upon completion. The rewards will mostly be materials you need for the crafting process.
According to the Guild Wars 2 developers, the idea behind these features is to give you a more streamlined approach towards the things you want; telling you exactly what you need and where you can get it.
