Final Fantasy Type-0 HD’s Japanese Launch Week Records Big Sales
The Japanese launch week of Final Fantasy Type-0 HD has been most impressive.
According to the latest video game charts for the region provided by Media Create, Final Fantasy Type-0 HD took the first spot by selling 92,094 units. This number caters to just the PlayStation 4 version of the game, and the Xbox One version failed to reach even the top 50 games sold during the first week.
It’s estimated that only 1,000 units of the game were sold on Microsoft’s console. If both platforms are combined then the total units sold within the first week ramps up to a beefy 93,094.
It’s interesting to note that Final Fantasy Type-0 was already available in Japan on the PSP. The remaster look of the game however, was attractive enough for players to come back in huge herds. The addition of the Final Fantasy XV demo probably had a hand in the strong sales as well.
Coming to the UK region, it’s pleasing to see the game do well there as well, getting beat only by Battlefield: Hardline.
While not confirmed, a sequel to Final Fantasy Type-0 HD is said to be in the works. Seeing the great reception of the game, Square Enix should be most willing to give a green light for another installment.
