Avengers: Age of Ultron – Meet the Super Powerful Siblings
Marvel’s Avengers: Age of Ultron released a new one minute long clip to introduce the fans with the latest additions to the storyline, Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver.
The clip gives details of the sibling’s backstory. Joss Whedon, Director and writer of Avengers: Age of Ultron says that these additions are ‘massively important’ to the storyline.
Wanda and Pietro Maximoff are twins with extraordinary powers that they can use to manipulate and affect everyone around them.
Elizabeth Olsen plays Wanda Maximoff (Scarlet Witch) and Aaron Taylor-Johnson plays the character of Pietro Maximoff (Quicksilver).
Avengers: Age of Ultron follows the story of an Artificial Intelligence program created by Iron Man to help Avengers but it turns rogue. Captain America, The Incredible Hulk, Thor, Hawkeye and Black Widow are in jeopardy. While they have turned against each other, they fight back as a team when the time comes.
Taylor-Johnson explains his character and his relationship with his sister. ‘They only have one another. It is kind of just them against the world.’ He further adds about his own character, ‘he is quick at everything. He is quick-tempered. Everyone goes so slow for him’, Quicksilver is very fast, he is almost as fast as the bullet.
Olsen’s character however is the exact opposite. She is manipulative and goes upon the extent of turning the Avengers against each other and aligning them with their greatest fears. ‘He is fast and quick and anxious. She is grounded and thoughtful.’
“What’s so interesting to me is how connected she is and how grounded she is with the universe,” Olsen adds to her statement. “And how much power she has without realizing it.”
Avengers: Age of Ultron premieres on May 1.
