Lazarus is in the development process, Legendary TV and Matt Tolmach are turning the comic book into a futuristic dystopian TV show!

According to reports circling the internet, Michael Lark and Greg Rucka have given over the rights to their comic book to Matt Tolmach of The Amazing Spider-Man and Legendary TV for a scripted show.

Looks like adaptions from comic books and their production as action thrillers is becoming a trend. TNT’s Titans, Preacher from AMC and CBS’ Supergirl are all in development with a massive fan following just waiting for their releases.

In October 2013, Image Comics released the first Lazarus about 16 wealthy families controlling and manipulating the rest of the society.

The show follows the story of Forever Carlyl, a Lazarus. Each family out of the 16 has one ‘genetically engineered and unkillable being’ that will do anything and everything to protect their family and their interests.

Forever Carlyl’s character is manipulative, deceptive and uses forceful methods to guard her family. The series explores morality and love alongside the several class systems.

Greg Rucka will be writing the script for the pilot of Lazarus as well as taking on the role of executive producer with Michael Lark and Matt Tolmach. David Manpearl will accompany the team and work on the project.
