Bloodborne Blood Gems Locations and Effects Guide

In Bloodborne, Blood Gems are used to upgrade weapons and armor at the Workshop. The Blood Gems are dropped by enemies, found hidden in Treasure Chests, and in Chalice Dungeons.

Bloodborne Blood Gems Locations

Blood Gems come in various shapes and strengths. This guide is an overview of all Blood Gems, their locations, and primary/secondary effects:

Adept Blood Gemstone
How to Find: It is dropped from the Undead Giant and Executioner enemies

It increases Thrust attack by +7.2 and Blunt attack by +6.3. As for the secondary effect, you will gain +3 physical attack bonus.

Arcane Blood Gemstone

This gem increases the Arcane attack.

Curse Fire Blood Gemstone
How to Find: If you know where to acquire Curse Fire Blood Gemstone, let us know!

This gem adds fire-based attack power to a weapon. As for the secondary effect, it increases stamina costs.

Cursed Nourishing Damp Blood Gem
How to Find: This Blood Gem is dropped by the Undead Giant

Like many other Blood Gems, this one also increases attack on your weapon and charged attack power.

Cursed Odd Tempering Damp Blood Gem

Cursed Radiant Damp Blood Gem

This Blood Gem drastically reduces stamina cost as its primary effect and increases charged attack power.

Cursed Sharp Damp Blood Gem

This Blood Gem increases Skill Scaling, reduces stamina cost, and also reduces attack against beasts and kin.

Cursed Tempering Damp Blood Gem
How to Find: This Blood Gem increases physical attack. As for its secondary effect, it reduces weapon durability; increases stamina cost, causes HP to deplete over time, adds physical attack, and reduces attack against beasts.

Dirty Damp Blood Gem

This Blood Gem adds poison effect and also reduces stamina cost as its secondary effect.

Fire Blood Gemstone

Kinhunter’s Damp Blood Gem

Murky Blood Gemstone

This Blood Gem adds slow poison effect to your weapon as a primary effect. As for its secondary effect, it increases physical attack, charged attack power, increases weapon durability, and also increases attack power against open foes.

Nourishing Damp Blood Gem

Sharp Blood Gemstone

Sharp Blood Gemstone enhances skill scaling and also increases physical attack power as its secondary effect.

Striking Blood Gemstone
How to Find: This Blood Gemstone is dropped by Executioners located in the Cathedral Ward.

As its primary effect, Striking Blood Gemstone increases the charged attack power and reduces stamina cost as its secondary effect.

Tempering Blood Gemstone
How to Find: May drop from Hooded Executioner in Central Yharnam, White Hooded Enemies in Old Yharnam, and from altar in the Cathedral Ward

Tempering Blood Gemstone increases physical attack power as its primary effect. As for the secondary effect, it causes HP to replenish over time, increases charged attack power, and adds slow poison effect to your weapons.

Tempering Damp Blood Gem
