PlayStation Vita Firmware Update 3.50 Goes Live Today
PlayStation Vita is going to receive a new update today that will raise the firmware to version 3.50, Sony has announced.
According to the patch notes, the update will allow the remote play functionality for the PlayStation 4 to have a higher quality setting by enabling 60 frames-per-second. The video application will now support 1080p videos, as well as the option to fast-forward up to 1.5 times. A scene search is also being added.
Firmware Update v3.50 will also improve accessibility options, giving players the option to change the size of the handheld’s text, contrast and more. The Vita map application is being removed and a minor change is the PSN tag renaming to PlayStation Network.
Earlier today, Sony also confirmed that Firmware Update 2.50 for the PlayStation 4 will go live tomorrow. The much awaited update will add 60 frames-per-second support to Share Play, and console owners will be able to set their units to rest mode without having to close applications and games.
A new back-up and restore option will save your profile from the console to an external USB drive. This includes your PS4 settings, saved data, screenshots, video clips, downloaded data, games and patches. You can read the complete patch notes here.
