Battle Royale Will Be Free to Watch on Xbox Live This Weekend

Square Enix is partnering up with Arrow Films to bring classic Japanese action flick Battle Royale for free on Xbox Live this weekend.

The free rental offer for the movie will however, be only available in the UK and will be for forty-eight hours, beginning this Saturday, March 28 in celebration of the recent release of Final Fantasy Type-0 HD on the Xbox One.

Battle Royale revolves around a bunch of school kids who are adept at fighting in the ring. You can imagine how well that ties up with Final Fantasy Type-0 HD which also centers on a group of students fighting to save the world from an apocalyptic event.

Battle Royale normally goes for £2.49, and features some content that might be deemed controversial, which essentially led to it being banned in certain parts of the world.

Final Fantasy Type-0 HD is available now on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Last week, game director Hajime Tabata revealed that a sequel to Type-0 was in the works. The team however, had to put it on hold to focus on completing Final Fantasy XV. Tabata will probably start revealing more about the game later this year.
