Black Tusk Responds to Marcus Fenix Collection Rumors, It’s a No

Black Tusk Studios has responded to recent rumors of work being down on a “Marcus Fenix Collection” exclusively for the Xbox One.

According to producer Rod Fergusson, it’s a no. Microsoft is not working on a Gears of War collection, even though Internet detectives believe it to be so.

“I love the passion, but there’s no Marcus Fenix Collection,” Fergusson wrote on Twitter today. “We ARE working on other exciting Gears projects. I’ll see you at E3!”

While many fans would be disappointed to hearing that, the prospect of seeing what Black Tusk has been working on at E3 is an exciting one. The studio is currently working on the next Gears of War installment for the Xbox One and Microsoft has already promised that it is planning to bring “a lot of surprises” to E3 in June.

Microsoft purchased the rights to the franchise from Epic Games in early 2014. It brought up the big question mark of whether Microsoft would be able to do justice to the franchise.

In December last year, Xbox head Phil Spencer teased that the team was “making massive progress” on the new Gears of War game. We’ll know this summer how good that progress is and fans can ascertain whether the wait is going to be worth it or not.
