ESL is Making An eSports Documentary for Cinemas, Out in July
For the first time ever, someone is making a documentary dedicated to the eSports world; the community, the matches, the events and more! Could you guess what they are calling it; “ALL WORK ALL PLAY: The Pursuit of eSports Glory.”
Yeah, that is the official name of the eSports documentary that is being made by ESL and BY Experience.
The managing director at ESL, Ralf Reichert believes that the said documentary is going to be a symbol of the growth that competitive gaming has experienced lately, and he continued:
When we started out, I dreamt about us filling stadiums, but I never entertained the idea of filling cinemas. Everyone who works with Intel Extreme Masters here at ESL is passionate about esports and I think this documentary and the development of esports series programming in cinemas is a testament to that growth. I’m very excited to see esports in cinemas for years to come and can guarantee I’ll be the first to buy a ticket.
The documentary is being directed by Patrick Creadon who has award winning documentaries to his credit for instance I.O.U.S.A. and Wordplay.
Apart from featuring the top players and known figures of the industry, it will go deeper inside the Intel Extreme Masters. When it airs, the eve will also bring forth an eSports event, live gaming, exclusive content and Q&A sessions.
However, when you look at the community, some of the CS:GO and StarCraft 2fans are sceptical because they expect the documentary to ignore their games and instead focus on MOBA titles like League of Legends and Dota 2.
ALL WORK ALL PLAY: The Pursuit of eSports Glory is going to premiere in July this year.
