Game of Thrones to be the Most Expensive Mobile Game From WB
Just recently, Warner Bros. announced a few new mobile games including Mortal Kombat X, LEGO Batman 3: Beyond Gotham, Batman Arkham Underworld and more. However, according to WB, their most expensive mobile project to date is going to be Game of Thrones.
The game which is still without a full title and isn’t dated, is well under development. During development, many changes are being made to the game as revealed by Greg Ballard, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment’s senior vice president of mobile, social and emerging platforms.
That’s the beauty of mobile games, they change a lot over the course of development, and it comes together at the end and you sort of say, ‘wow, that was really amazing how you did that.’
He further went on to say:
But if you look at it now in bits and pieces, it looks like an automobile in a shop, with the engine over here, the chassis over here and the suspension being worked on over there. There’s a little bit of that going on with Game of Thrones right now.
It will probably end up being our highest budget game in our history, just looking at the trajectory of the development. I think it will be, fingers crossed, worthy of the series.
WB isn’t new to the mobile gaming scene but these slew of new titles seem to be a real push in the sector. Game of Thrones was turned into and episodic series on different platforms and gained exceptional success. Warner Bros. is looking to cash-in on its popularity on mobile platforms as well.
