Disney’s Beauty and the Beast Live Action has Found its LeFou
Josh Gad has landed the role for LeFou in Disney’s upcoming live action feature Beauty and the Best.
After the talks are over between Disney and Josh Gad, he will officially be the bumbling sidekick to Gaston played by Luke Evans confirms Variety.
Gad will join Emma Watson and Dan Stevens from Downton Abbey who will be playing Belle and Prince/Beast respectively in Disney’s Beauty and the Beast.
Gad has previously given his voice to Snowman’s character Olaf from Frozen (in which he performed the song “In Summer”) and he is expected to join cast for Frozen 2.
Beauty and the Beauty live action feature will be a musical and considering Gad’s experience in this particular genre, we can say that he will just wing the character. Gad has earlier starred in The Book of Mormon, which was a hit Broadway stage musical.
Bill Condon will direct the live action version of Beauty and the Beast along with Mandeville Films’ Todd Lieberman and David Hoberman. Evan Spiliotopoulos formerly wrote the script, now Steve Chbosky is re-writing it.
The movie is anticipated to follow the classic fairytale storyline, with minute changes. Disney has not yet announced a release date for its upcoming live action Beauty and the Beast featuring Emma Watson, Dan Stevens, Luke Evans and Josh Gad.
