Cities: Skylines Records New Sales Record for Paradox Interactive
Paradox Interactive’s city-building game, Cities: Skylines, has sold the highest amount of copies in its first day of launch than any previous game from the publisher.
Released on March 10 this week, Cities: Skylines sold an impressive 250,000 copies across the PC, Max and Linux platforms – this also includes pre-orders.
Developer Colossal Order is very “happy and proud” with how its game has been received. It is most impressed with how the game’s Steam Workshop is buzzing with content, and it hopes that the same reaction causes modders to keep adding the page with more “amazing content” in the coming months.
“We would like to offer our deepest and heartfelt thanks to the community for their passionate support and to let them know that we are committed to supporting this wonderful game for years to come,” said Fredrik Wester, CEO of Paradox Interactive, “in the same way that we have for our Crusader Kings and Europa Universalis communities. We knew that we had a great game on our hands and so to be able to continue to provide fans of the game with a multitude of new content for it going forward is fantastic.”
Paradox Interactive are the publisher behind a range of huge titles including the critically acclaimed Crusader Kings and Europa Universalis franchises.
