Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End Delayed, Coming in Spring 2016

By   /   Mar 11, 2015

PlayStation 4’s biggest release of 2015, Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End is delayed. The title will now be released in spring 2016, Naughty Dog said.

This is a huge hit to PlayStation as Sony doesn’t have much to offer in the later part of 2015. On the other hand, Microsoft is fully loaded with titles like Rise of the Tomb Raider and Quantum break. It’s never really an easy decision for a studio to delay such a big game, so what happened?

According to a post on the official PlayStation blog, developers want more time with the game’s development. They feel Drake’s final chapter deserve more attention and time to get it right.

After spending so many years with Nathan Drake, he means a lot to the team, and telling the climactic chapter of his adventures is a task we don’t take lightly – this game deserves every bit of the attention to detail, precise pacing, and nuanced storytelling Naughty Dog is known for.

So we’ve made the difficult choice of pushing the game’s release date. Giving us a few extra months will make certain that Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End not only meets the team’s high standards but the high standards that gamers have come to expect from a Naughty Dog title.

Delays are actually good for a game’s overall quality and Naughty Dog has a reputation to maintain. Their previous titles have blown people away and they want to do the same with Uncharted 4. However, Sony will have to announce something big for Holiday 2015 at E3, or like last year, Microsoft will dominate the season once again.
