Shinji Mikami’s The Evil Within is expanding its tale of horror via The Assignment DLC. The content is now available to season pass holders for free, but you do have the option to purchase it separately if you don’t own the season pass.

The DLC is available for $9.99 on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, Xbox 360 and PC.

The Assignment puts you in the shoes of detective Juli Kidman. In the base game, she played the role Sebastian Castellanos’ partner.

The events of The Assignment will focus on the whereabouts of Juli during The Evil Within. Those who played the game will remember her missing from the action for the most part, while Sebastian handled things alone.

The Assignment gives fans of The Evil Within the perfect opportunity to discover detective Kidman’s hidden motivations and her mysterious connection to Mobius, the shadowy group thought to be behind the gruesome events of The Evil Within.

Juli’s story won’t end here, in Spring we are getting a second piece of downloadable content named The Consequence. It will further shed more light on her mysterious character.

Shinji Mikami is known for having strong female characters in his games. Who can forget the amazing Claire Redfield or Jill Valentine from Resident Evil series. If Mikami decided to continue this franchise, we may see Juli become a regular in The Evil Within.

The Assignment can be downloaded from Steam, Xbox Live and PlayStation Network. Would you like to see a sequel for The Evil Within?
