Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes Save Files Transferable To The Phantom Pain
Players will be able to transfer their save files from Metal Solid V: Ground Zeroes to the new Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, Konami has announced.
Detailing the feature today, the publisher said that the process can only be done within the same console family. This means that players with a copy of Ground Zeroes on the PS3 can either choose to continue their story on the same console or on the PS4.
Similarly, owners of an Xbox 360 copy can do so with the same console or the Xbox One. There will be no cross-save functionality.
It goes without saying that those owning Ground Zeroes on the PS4, Xbox One or PC, will have to continue their story by purchasing The Phantom Pain on the same platform.
Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes is the prologue for The Phantom Pain. The game carries a very short play-through and players can genuinely finish it within two hours. Its release however was deemed necessary in continuing the story of the upcoming installment in the franchise.
Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain is due for release on September 1 for the PS4 and Xbox One. The PC version will release two weeks later on September 15.
So far only two games have allowed its users to transfer data between two families of console: Diablo III and GTA V.
