By   /   Mar 5, 2015

At this year’s Game Developers Conference, Epic Games showed off improvements made to Unreal Tournament including a revamped launcher, an Unreal Editor for UT, new UT marketplace, and a brand new map called Outpost 23.

Today, the team unveiled the first official gameplay trailer for Outpost 23. The said trailer contains “footage captured real-time from a pre-alpha version of the game.”

Even for a pre-alpha version of the game, it looks absolutely incredible, courtesy of Unreal Engine 4. Everything from environments to explosions is exceedingly detailed and top-notch. You can check out the trailer above and share your impressions with us in the discussion box below.

Another highlight of this trailer is that the Unreal Engine 4 is running on DirectX 12 which, according to Microsoft, can result in a 20 per cent increase in performance over DirectX 11 running on a machine with specifications.

Those of you who are interested in trying out the game can check out Unreal Tournament official website for more details.

In other Unreal Tournament news, the new content with the recent update includes the Malcolm and Necris characters and the game’s first cosmetic items; hats. In case you are interested in creating something, check out these series of tutorials and start building with the customized editor.
