Phil Spencer Explains Why The Master Chief Collection Was Shipped With Issues
Towards the end of 2014, majority of the releases were disappointing. Not that they weren’t great games but it took a while for them to be in a playable shape. Developers release numerous patches for their titles to fix a plethora of issues.

Halo: The Master Chief Collection had many issues but the biggest was matchmaking. Users had to wait hours before finding a match, horrible success rates and more problems plagued Halo: TMCC. Previously, 343 in addition to Microsoft’s Phil Spencer has personally apologized for the botched launch.
However, it was never explained how a game with so many issues was cleared for release?
Speaking in an interview, Phil Spencer revealed what happened:
Going into the launch our internal processes and testing methodologies had told us that we had a game that was ready to launch. Then, when it launched, we learned some things we didn’t know going into the launch – which is something we need to get better at. You’re always going to learn something when you launch; you can’t simulate the real-world environment completely inside of any sterile, fixed environment.
If that is the case, it means some major changes are to be made to their QA process. Thankfully, Microsoft and 343 are making extra efforts to insure Halo 5 doesn’t suffer from the same problems. Early betas and introduction of new features in the preview program are helping developers iron things way before the big release.
On the other hand, Microsoft and 343 Industries have made notable efforts to fix Halo: The Master Chief Collection. It’s the right time to get the game if you were waiting for it to be fixed.
