Downtown Abbey Star Dan Stevens Joins Disney’s Beauty and the Beast
Downtown Abbey star Dan Stevens has joined the live action cast of Disney’s Beauty and the Beast along with Emma Watson.
Stevens landed the role of titular beast/ prince on Beauty and the Beast. Emma Watson confirmed via twitter that Dan Stevens would play the character of the Beast and Luke Evans of Gaston.
Revealing the news about Stevens joining the cast of Beauty and the Beast she tweeted:

Bill Condon, American Academy Award Winner, who previously made Twilight: Breaking Dawn part one and two, is directing beauty and the Beast live action version. It is expected to follow the classic fairy tale storyline.
After finishing his time on Downtown Abbey, Stevens landed quite a few attention-grabbing film opportunities. He gave several interesting movies to his fans last year, two of them being The Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb and The Cobbler.
Adam Wingard’s The Guest was without a doubt the best of his work until date. Disney has not given out any details regarding the appearance of the titular male lead.
So the question arises, are they going to make Stevens a fur loaded beast as it was seen in the 1991 animated version? Or a similar ugly creature created in Beastly (2011)? Or maybe Disney has something else in store for its audience.
Disney has not yet announced a confirmed release date for its live action Beauty and the Beast featuring Emma Watson as Belle, Dan Stevens as the Beast/prince and Luke Evans as Gaston.
