Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain Will Release for PC on September 15
Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain will arrive on the PC two weeks after its initial release on the consoles, Konami revealed yesterday.
The game is scheduled to launch on September 1 for the PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One, but will land on PC on September 15. The publisher did not cite any reason for the difference in release dates.
Looking back though, Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes was released for the PC nine months after its original release on consoles. Compared to that, two weeks for the new installment sound like a blessing.
According to Konami, the Steam version of the game will include the “Day 1 Edition” DLC at launch, which contains the following:
- Adam-ska Special Handgun
- Personal Ballistic Shield (Silver)
- Cardboard Box (Wetland)
- Fatigues (Blue Urban Snake Costume)
- METAL GEAR ONLINE XP BOOST
It isn’t clarified whether players will have to pre-order the game to gain access to the Day 1 Edition or not. The Steam listing is yet to be updated and until then, we’ll assume that this isn’t classified as a pre-order bonus.
In other news, Sony and Konami have announced a special edition PlayStation 4 console for Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain. The console comes with an elegant red finishing, in a way reproducing the colors of Snake’s artificial arm.
The accompanying controller on the other hand is inspired by his gun and does not match the console’s color scheme. It’s a beautiful offering!
