Runescape Developer Has an Unannounced MMORPG in the Works

By   /   Mar 2, 2015

Developer and publisher Jagex, known for its work on Runescape is working on an unannounced MMORPG. The news was leaked via a job listing from the studio, looking for a lead programmer.

According to the listing, the company is in early stages of “redefining the cross platform MMORPG genre.” The ad isn’t ambiguous as it explicitly makes reference to a new game, while mentioning Runescape as a completely different project.

This is the ultimate opportunity for an experienced lead or senior programmer with a solid background in MMO development to create something new and exciting, with the support of a company known globally for its expertise in this genre. You will be expected to bring to the table broad experience working across a wide variety of game systems, platforms and genres.

It seems Jagax wants to repeat the success it had with RuneScape through this new game. Apart from the ad, we don’t know anything about this project. The ad suggests that the game is in early stages, so we shouldn’t expect it to be revealed anytime soon.

Lastly, if you are interested in joining the team working on the game follow the link here and apply. Jagex is offering a full time contract and salary is negotiable depending on your skills and talents. More details are available at the given link.
