Rise of the Tomb Raider Will Fully Utilize Xbox One Hardware

Rise of the Tomb Raider is among the biggest Xbox exclusives of 2015. Expectations are high and developers are doing their best to make sure Lara’s next adventure will be memorable.

Rise of the Tomb Raider will be released for both Xbox One and Xbox 360. Microsoft supporting their last-gen console is great for its owners, but it also bring up a very genuine question. Will the Xbox 360 version hold back its Xbox One counterpart?

Well, according to director Brian Horton, Rise of the Tomb Raider will push Xbox One hardware to its limits. He says that Crystal Dynamic is fully focused on the Xbox One version while their long time partner Nixxes is handling the development of the Xbox 360 version.

He further adds that the guys over at Nixxes are “wizards,” who will make sure the best possible Xbox 360 game is offered to the fans. Since the Xbox 360 isn’t as powerful compared to its successor, its version of Rise of the Tomb Raider will be “modified” in some areas.

On the other Hand, Xbox One iteration of the game is fully utilizing hardware capabilities of the console; according to Horton.

I think it’s safe to say the Xbox One isn’t being held back by the 360 version at all. Lara will be heading to the Xbox console near you this holiday season. More news about the game is expected at E3 2015.
