Mortal Kombat X’s Story Trailer Reveals New Characters, Shinnok Returns

By   /   Feb 27, 2015

Mortal Kombat X received a story trailer today, which amongst revealing the partial plot also unveiled plenty of new characters.

Despite NetherRealm Studios pointing out five notable character reveals in the trailer, there are actually a couple more included. Shinnok, the Fallen Elder God, who previously debuted in Mortal Kombat 4 will probably be acting as the final boss of Mortal Kombat X. His inclusion increases the likelihood of a previous rumor that we’ll also be seeing Reiko’s return.

Mileena returns with a vengeance and is looking to release Shinnok from his prison in order to take over the throne of Outworld. Jax’s daughter Jacqueline Briggs will be joining forces with Kung Lao’s descendant Kung Jin and Kenshi’s son Takashi Takeda.

The trailer also reveals Sindel to be making the cut, alongside Baraka and Rain. Finally Erron Black, the rumored gunslinger will also be making the roster.

Yesterday, NetherRealm Studios revealed Brutalities for Mortal Kombat X. It’s a bit different this time around compared to what we experienced with Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3. Make no mistake though, they still seem pretty brutal.

Mortal Kombat X is due for release on April 14 for the PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One and PC. Pre-ordering the game will get you access to Goro as a playable character on launch day. We’re still waiting for his gameplay footage though.
