“PikAmp” Exploit in Super Smash Bros. Wii U is Game-Breaking
Players have discovered a major exploit in Super Smash Bros. which turns Captain Olimar, one of the least used characters, into a powerful killing machine.
The implications of this exploit are dire as far as the game’s competitive scene is concerned. Following tutorial videos and guides, pretty much everyone now knows how to take advantage of the exploit. The only catch is that it’s a bit difficult to do.
However, once certain conditions are met, Captain Olimar can supercharge his pikmin during a fight to make them into a more powerful version that can instantly kill any opposing character with a single hit.
They are calling the exploit as “PikAmp” and it needs to be patched by Nintendo as soon as possible. Here’s one quick guide by a player on how to do it:
- Step 1. Throw Pikmin, preferably onto someone, or make sure the reflector is in between you and Pikmin (in this case, make sure they can walk to the reflector).
- Step 2. Have player 2 reflect it so the Pikmin touches the reflector by walking by, or latching.
- Step 3. Using the Order Tackle custom move, bring the Pikmin back. If they are done at the right timing, you can get almost 100% on your opponent.
- Step 4. Note this Pikmin. it is now busted until it dies, is thrown, or used in a smash attack.
At the moment tournament organizers, are trying to work with the community in deciding what features and rules to ban, so as to keep the playing field fair. However, unless Nintendo steps in, it’s possible that the fighting community returns to Melee instead of sticking with Super Smash Bros. for Wii U.
