Rise of The Tomb Raider Has Snow Free Locations Too
We have known of Rise of the Tomb raider since August 2013 although it only got a name in June 2014 at E3 – that is a really long time of development considering how even in 2013 they said that it was way into development.
Even now we don’t have a specific release date for it – what are you doing Microsoft!
However, after a couple of months of silence the developers started talking about the game as February kicked in. This was when they discussed the Xbox 360 port, the weapons and locations that the game is going to have and some other things couple of days ago.
When locations were discussed back then, many of us questioned how would the game feel if it was only going to show us snowcapped areas and icy mountains of Siberia. Well, you don’t need to think about that any more, because the game is going to feature other locations too!
Brian Horton, the game director of Rise of the Tomb Raider was recently talking to GameInformer where he revealed that the game will also feature locations outside of Siberia. It is something called Oasis, but the developers were very clear that they weren’t ready to share a lot of details about it:
Snow is obviously very important to us but there’s a bubble of the world that seems to exist outside Siberia. We call it the oasis, it’s a place that isn’t completely permafrost and this oasis, which we’re not going into a lot of detail about but just now that different weather, different temperatures are important to make sure we’re not going with one single look throughout the entire game.
Rise of the Tomb Raider has been confirmed for Xbox One and Xbox 360, it is going to be released sometime this year though the developers didn’t say when.
