Evolve Hunter Perks, Monster Perks, Elite Wildlife Buffs Guide

Once you are done selecting your Hunter or Monster, you are required to choose a Perk. These ‘Perks’ are unlocked as characters level up (Level-40 being the highest).

Both the Hunters and Monsters have a total of nine Perks each. For more help on Evolve, read our Wildlife Inhabitants, Hunter Character Mastery and Unlocks Guide.

Each Perk has three tiers which also need unlocking. This guide aims to provide an overview of all Hunters and Monsters Perks that can be found in EVOLVE.

Key: Tier – How to Unlock – Effect

Hunter Perks

Capacity Increase
This Perk increases the usage of any equipment that requires ammo or battery life. If you are inclined to use a piece of equipment that requires a lot of ammo or battery life, this Perk might be for you!

  • Tier 1 – Level 10 – increases ammo or battery life by 25%
  • Tier 2 – Level 23 – increases ammo or battery life by 38%
  • Tier 3 – Level 36 – increases ammo or battery life by 50%

Damage Bonus
Like its name suggests, Damage Bonus increases the overall damage dealt by the Hunters. Players who play the role of Assault or Support should consider picking this Perk.

  • Tier 1 – Level 5 – increases the overall damage dealt by 7%
  • Tier 2 – Level 18 – increases the overall damage dealt by 11%
  • Tier 3 – Level 31 – increases the overall damage dealt by 15%

Damage Resistance
This Perk allows the Hunters to sustain more damage dealt by the Monster or wildlife scattered across the map. Players who play the role of Medic or Trapper should consider picking it up.

  • Tier 1 – Level 8 – decreases the damage taken by 7%
  • Tier 2 – Level 21 – decreases the damage taken by 11%
  • Tier 3 – Level 34 – decreases the damage taken by 15%

Health Regeneration
Health Regeneration allows the Hunters to receive constant HP with every passing second. Unlike the Damage Perks, every Hunter should consider picking it up, but there certainly are better options out there.

  • Tier 1 – Level 13 – provides 15 HP with every second
  • Tier 2 – Level 26 – provides 23 HP with every second
  • Tier 3 – Level 39 – provides 30 HP with every second

Jet Pack Resistance
This Perk allows Hunters to recharge their Jet Pack a lot faster than without it. It is especially useful when the player controlling the Monster is somewhat aggressive.

  • Tier 1 – Level 4 – the Jet Pack recharges 37% faster
  • Tier 2 – Level 17 – the Jet Pack recharges 55% faster
  • Tier 3 – Level 30 – the Jet Pack recharges 75% faster

Jump Height
This is Perk which all the Hunters use as the ‘Default Perk’.

Jump Height allows the Hunters to increase the altitude covered while jumping. Players can use it to avoid being hit by the Monster’s charging attacks. Do note that players only need to unlock Tier 3 of this Perk.

  • Tier 3 – Level 1 – increases jumping altitude by 200%

Movement Speed
This Perk increases the Hunters’ movement speed significantly, allowing them to reach and evade the Monster’s attacks faster than without it.

  • Tier 1 – Level 11 – increases movement speed by 10%
  • Tier 2 – Level 24 – increases movement speed by 15%
  • Tier 3 – Level 37 – increases movement speed by 20%

Quick Switch
Throughout a match, you will be forced to cycle between different pieces of equipment. Keeping this in mind, Quick Switch allows the Hunters to switch items in a much faster way.

While playing with Ciara, do make certain to consider picking this Perk up.

  • Tier 1 – Level 2 – switch items 50% faster
  • Tier 2 – Level 15 – switch items 75% faster
  • Tier 3 – Level 28 – switch items 100% faster

Reload Speed
Reload Speed reduces the cooldown time of certain pieces of equipment and reduces the reload time of various weapons. With intense action going on, you should definitely consider picking this Perk up:

  • Tier 1 – Level 7 – reduces cooldown time or increases reload speed by 15%
  • Tier 2 – Level 20 – reduces cooldown time or increases reload speed by 23%
  • Tier 3 – Level 33 – reduces cooldown time or increases reload speed by 30%

Monster Perks

Armor Regeneration
This is one of the best Perks to use while playing as a Monster. Armor Regeneration essentially allows the Monster to regenerate its armor at a much faster rate.

With this Perk at your disposal, the Hunters will definitely have a hard time taking you out. However, you need to make sure that you escape the area IF you armor gets too low and let it recharge before encountering the Hunters again.

  • Tier 1 – Level 14 – increases armor regeneration by 25%
  • Tier 2 – Level 27 – increases armor regeneration by 38%
  • Tier 3 – Level 40 – increases armor regeneration by 50%

Climb Speed
Climb Speed is the Monster’s ‘Default Perk’ and allow it to reach higher vantage points much faster, allowing it to escape the Hunters in certain unfortunate situations. Do note that players playing as a Monster only need to unlock Tier 3 of this Perk:

  • Tier 3 – Level 1 – increases climb speed by 30%

Cooldown Reduction
This Perk is almost identical to Hunters’ Reload Speed Perk. Cooldown Reduction essentially allows the Monster to use its abilities more often as it recharges these abilities faster.

  • Tier 1 – Level 9 – abilities are recharged 15% faster
  • Tier 2 – Level 22 – abilities are recharged 23% faster
  • Tier 3 – Level 35 – abilities are recharged 30% faster

Damage Bonus
This is much similar to Hunters’ counterpart Perk and allows the Monster to deal increased amount of damage to all the Hunters. For once, try and use it with Kraken or Goliath and see those human scumbags drop like bass.

  • Tier 1 – Level 5 – increases overall damage dealt by 7%
  • Tier 2 – Level 18 – increases overall damage dealt by 11%
  • Tier 3 – Level 31 – increases overall damage dealt by 15%

Damage Resistance
This Perk is the opposite of Damage Bonus and decreases the damage dealt by the Hunters. Players playing as the Monster should definitely consider picking this Perk up.

  • Tier 1 – Level 8 – decreases the overall damage dealt by the Hunters by 7%
  • Tier 2 – Level 21- decreases the overall damage dealt by the Hunters by 11%
  • Tier 3 – Level 34 – decreases the overall damage dealt by the Hunters by 15%

Feeding Speed
Feeding allows the Monster to increase its energy and reach Stage #2 and Stage #3 much faster. With this Perk, the Monster feeds much faster than without it. Players playing as a Monster should definitely consider picking this Perk up.

  • Tier 1 – Level 3 – increases feeding rate by 37%
  • Tier 2 – Level 16 – increases feeding rate by 55%
  • Tier 3 – Level 29 – increases feeding rate by 75%

Movement Speed
Like the name suggests, this Perk allows the Monster to increases its movement speed. Increased movement speed makes up for better fighting and fleeing.

  • Tier 1 – Level 11 – increases movement speed by 10%
  • Tier 2 – Level 24 – increases movement speed by 15%
  • Tier 3 – Level 37 – increases movement speed by 20%

Smell Range
When playing as a Monster, smelling is an extremely important part. Not only it allows the Monster to locate edible wildlife, but also the Hunters. Tier 3 of this Perk makes it immensely easy to identify the Hunters from a long range.

  • Tier 1 – Level 6 – increases smell range by 37%
  • Tier 2 – Level 19 – increases smell range by 55%
  • Tier 3 – Level 32 – increases smell range by 75%

Stamina Increase
This is pretty straightforward! This allows the Monster’s stamina to recharge more quickly and make the usage of leap, airburst, and warp more frequent.

  • Tier 1 – Level 12 – increases stamina recharge 25% faster
  • Tier 2 – Level 25 – increases stamina recharge 38% faster
  • Tier 3 – Level 38 – increases stamina recharge 50% faster

Elite Wildlife Buffs

While playing a match, you will come across certain creatures with a ‘+’ icon over their heads.

Killing these creatures will allow you to receive ‘Buffs’ dropped by these creatures. These ‘Buffs’ can be considered as Perks and provide work for both the Hunters & Monsters:

Armadon
It provides 35% damage resistance to both the Hunters and Monsters and does not affect shield/armor.

Basking Cephaladon
To the Monster, it provides 100% increased Feeding Speed. As for the Hunters, it provides some sort of wildlife-repellent.

Blitzleopard
To the Hunters, it provides increased jumping altitude and to the Monsters, it grants 50% increased Climbing Speed.

Canyon Strider
This ‘Buff’ provides 35% increased movement speed to both the Hunters and Monsters.

Crowbill Sloth
This ‘Buff’ provides 35% increased damage output to both the Hunters and Monsters.

Mammoth Bird
When killed by a Hunter, this wildlife provides 50% reload speed and the ability to switch quickly. As for the Monster, all abilities receive 50% decreased cooldown time.

Marsh Strider
This ‘Buff’ provides 35% increased movement speed to both the Hunters and Monsters.

Megamouth
When killed by the Monster, it provides additional speed when executing Stealth Pounce. As for the Hunters, they receive decreased cooldown time for special ability.

Nomad
Hunters receive decreased recharge time for the Jet Pack and Monster receive special ability cooldown reduction time.

Obsidian Grub
The Hunters cannot be knocked down when under the effect of this ‘Buff’ and the Monsters regenerate armor much faster.

Reaver
Hunters spend 35% less fuel while flying. As for the Monster, scared birds do not alert the Hunters.

Spotter
When picked up the Hunters, they get the ability to see the outlines of creatures within a radius of 50-meters. As for the Monsters, they receive 200% increased smell range within a radius of 100-meters.

Steamadon
This allows both the Hunters and Monsters to slow down opponent for one second after being shot at.

Tyrant
This allows both the Hunters and Monsters to regenerate HP over time.

Venomhound
The last ‘Buff’ adds Poison Damage to the attack delivered by the Monsters and Hunters.
