FIFA Points Scam Messages Flood Xbox Live, Microsoft Working on a Fix

By   /   Feb 6, 2015

Over the last few weeks, a number of Xbox Live users have been reporting scam messages related to FIFA points – with the number increasing every day.

Nearly all of these messages are advertising one thing: link to third-party FIFA Points resellers. It does not matter whether you have FIFA in your library or not, chances are that you already received or may receive these messages at some point.

Luckily, the annoyance has caught Microsoft’s attention and the company is working on putting these scammers down, as stated by Mike ‘XboxQwik’ Ybarra:

Clearly, the fix proposed by Ybarra is far from ideal, but I’m inclined to give it a shot. The reason being that it’s a hassle to sort out one’s messages so as to report each individual one by one. Once again, Microsoft understands the intensity of the issue and has stated that in it will make easier to report spammers in the upcoming update:

In related Xbox news, Microsoft has rolled out February 2015 update for Xbox One which brings controller improvements, TV Hub, and much more.
