The Order: 1886 Developer Diary Shows the Amazing Tech Involved in Making the Game

A brand new behind-the-scenes developer diary for the upcoming PS4 exclusive third-person shooter has been released. The developer diary discusses the impressive new technology that powers the game’s stunning visual and mechanics.

The video also shares brief glimpses of actual gameplay footage, though; there is nothing that we have not already seen before. Nonetheless, it’s good to see how the game shaped up over time and became what it is today.

According to the game’s Chief Technical Officer Andrea Pessino, all the tools were made by the developer so that the core idea behind their vision could be come alive without dealing with any sacrifices:

We set on creating everything from scratch, with the goal of realizing the unrestrained vision of our artists by innovating in the areas of image fidelity, shading, illumination, volumetric effects and simulation techniques.

Pessino also stated that doing it all was quite a huge challenge and there were some things that did not work the way they intended, but the end result is totally worth it.

The Order: 1886 is scheduled to hit the store shelves exclusively for Playstation 4 on Feb. 20, 2015.
