Rise of the Tomb Raider Weapons, Locations, Xbox 360 Port and More
New information has been uncovered for Rise of the Tomb Raider, via the latest edition of the Game Informer magazine.
Crystal Dynamics is apparently putting all of its focus on the Xbox One. Early reports state that the studio is largely ignoring the Xbox 360 version, which is being handled by Nixxes Software. There’s no further information on how well the development is going for each version.
Rise of the Tomb Raider will feature ‘at least’ two different locations spread across the globe. Much like other titles, Lara will be able to use cloth and herbs to heal her wounds. Good news is that there will more variety in weaponry, with more than one of each weapon type. As an example, different bows will have different attributes.
The game’s weather system will affect wildlife and enemy AI. The article suggests that the animals will ‘react’ to the time of day, which perhaps dictates that at night the more dangerous beasts will be prowling the terrain.
In the game, players will be able to climb trees, hide in bushes and swim. The game puts lesser focus on stealth this time around. Sneaking isn’t going to be the answer to everything. Some weapons will be available to distract enemies and lure them away.
The combat is similar to The Last of Us, and players can lose enemies after engaging them. Additionally there will be more puzzles and tombs for players to explore this time around. Crystal Dynamics wants to bring back “nested puzzles” that feature multiple stages, as well as integrating combat and traversal challenges.
Rise of the Tomb Raider is looking for a release this holiday for the Xbox One and Xbox 360.
