Telltale’s Game of Thrones Episode 2 Gets a Launch Trailer
Game of Thrones Episode 2 releases tomorrow, February 3rd. The new episode, The Lost Lords, sees Telltale Games continue the drama as the Forresters hope to regain the honour of their house.
In the trailer, Mira Forrester is engaging in the politics of King’s Landing with a cameo from Tyrion Lannister while Gared Tuttle is enduring the cold life of the Night’s Watch with Jon Snow.
Episode 2 has fulfilled Telltale’s promise of publishing a new episode every 5 to 8 weeks as Episode 1 was released between 2nd and 10th December. Receiving generally positive reviews, the episodic point-and-click graphic adventure has satisfied the need for a good Game of Thrones video game following the criticisms of former games.
Being based within the events of The War of the Five Kings, Telltale’s series sees House Forrester caught up in perilous events which sees the player control any of the five characters in the first episode.
In the second episode, and throughout the series, the player is expected to use their preferred character to progress through the game.
Also, it is interesting to note that while House Forrester was not originally part of the A Song of Ice and Fire books, G. R. R. Martin has included them following the video game’s publication.
The game series is experiencing initial success from the accomplishments of HBO’s Game of Thrones which has lead another game to potentially join the band wagon. It is rumoured to be in development by Big Bad Wolf, the team partially behind World of Warcraft and Styx: Masters of Shadows.
While the rumours are ambiguous, it appears that Telltale games is leading the way with its Game of Thrones series and with its non-linear consequential decision based gameplay.
