Did Sony Tease Metal Gear Rising 2?
News of an impending sequel to Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance has been making rounds since morning.
During a highlight reel of PlayStation 4 titles being shown at the Taipei Game Show 2015, the number two was flashed momentarily that was styled in the exact manner of the Metal Gear Rising logo. The number only appeared for a few seconds but was enough to garner everyone’s attention.
The show itself offered no details on the teaser image, even though the series’ creator Hideo Kojima was present there. To make matters interesting, his Twitter account has recently revealed visits to Platinum Games – developer of Metal Gear Rising and Bayonetta 2.
Connecting the dots gives us a Metal Gear Rising 2. However, in an update provided by Ken-ichiro Imaizumi, a senior producer at Metal Gear series developer Kojima Productions, the number “2” from the reel was not teasing any sequel. In fact he stated that he has no clue what the number stood for.
“Sounds like it just a countdown number ‘2.’ It’s [Sony Computer Entertainment] made trailer.”
Until there’s an official confirmation, you can juggle between whether Sony really did tease Metal Gear Rising 2 today or not.
Metal Gear Rising: Revengence was released in 2013. Instead of Snake, it featured Raiden, the protagonist of Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty.
