Driveclub Getting The Apex Car Pack and Five New Tracks Tomorrow
Evolution Studios has announced more content for Driveclub (both paid and free DLC) that will launch tomorrow.
The Apex Car Pack is part of the game’s Season Pass and will feature five new vehicles: Enzo Ferrari, Caterham R500 Superlight, Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 Centennial Edition, McLaren 650S Coupe, and Jaguar C-X75 Prototype Edition. The expansion pack will also boast eleven new events and five new trophies. For non-Season Pass holders, the pack will cost £4.99/€5.99/AU$8.95/US$5.99.
Additionally, the racing game will be receiving five new tracks for free tomorrow that are located in Japan.
“Along with our own research and gameplay data analysis, your input has been a big help in shaping all of the tracks we’re developing for Japan,” Evolution Studios said on its Facebook page. “Especially the many, many requests for an epic point-to-point like this and for wider tracks to make fighting for position less frustrating, particularly in online races.”
The developer also provided an update on the long delayed free PlayStation Plus edition of Driveclub, saying that it is coming soon. Server performance has been improved immensely and it can now support large numbers without the dangers of crippling services.
Driveclub launched in October last year and in its only first month saw its online services shut down. The game’s launch was horrendous and proved dire for the studio. In the months to follow much work had to be done and right now, the game is finally looking to be a worthwhile purchase on the PlayStation 4.
